This year the club will again visit the Coupe Florio held in St. Brieuc, France. The dates are slightly later than the normal trip, it takes place between the 6th and 8th September.
Members will be responsible for their own ferry arrangements. It is suggested that participants travel on the morning of the 5th September, returning on the Monday evening. Accommodation has been arranged at the Best Western Le Duguesclin where 22 rooms have been reserved. 2 disabled rooms are available. Secure parking has been arranged by the organisers, who have taken over a whole floor in a closed in multi storey carpark which is gated and locked between the hours of 8am and 8pm and is patrolled by security guards.
The Concors de’Elegance takes place on the Friday evening. Cars selected to take part will be elected so as to make the parade as interesting as possible. The criteria are to have different marques. If you bring a different car to 2017 then you will be selected. A free meal will be served to the successful participants of the Concourse d’Elegance and those selected will have their final payment reduced by 40 euros. Presentation of the cars will commence at 7.30pm in front of a jury and an anticipated audience of thousands.
The Gala dinner will be held across the other side of St Brieuc on Saturday so courtesy buses will be arranged.
On Sunday there is a hill climb which is quite a spectacle with old cars negotiating the tricky and winding hill from the Port to the Parc des Promenades. Once again we have been invited to the VIP viewing section at the starting line on the Port. For those who are not interested we will have routes prepared for a further tour around the beautiful Cotes d’Amour.
